Upsets, SEC New Comers & Blowouts in Week Two

The only place we can start with week two of the college football season is with the Arkansas Razorbacks being upset at home by the University of Louisiana Monroe, in over time by a score of 34-31.

Could it have been that Arkansas got caught up in their pre-season rankings, and looking ahead to the big Western Division match up with No. 1 Alabama next week? No one can be quite sure, although we do know, that it will not pit two top-10 teams against next Saturday.

Louisiana-Monroe showed little doubt as they had to go for and convert two fourth down plays; one in regulation time, the other in over time to beat the Razorbacks. This was the first time in their history, they have beaten a ranked opponent.

The SEC welcomed it's two newest members on Saturday, Texas A&M and Missouri. Both teams were at home for their new conference openers. However, both teams lost those games in the end.

The Aggies and Tigers both showed they can play in the SEC. Though it seemed, the new comers looked a little gassed when the fourth quarters rolled around.

Texas A&M and Mizzou may not have won their SEC debuts. I believe they proved they will fit in just fine in the SEC.

Blowouts were a little more common than they were even in week one of the college football season. Of course, the FSU vs. Savannagh State game was set as the highest point spread in college football history. A mere 69 1/2 points.

The game would ultimately be called due to bad weather in the area. With the Seminoles holding on to a 55-0 victory.

Other blowouts included South Carolina defeating East Carolina 48-10. Clemson wiping up Ball State 52-27. Tennessee all over Georgia State 51-13. Oklahoma rolling FAMU 69-13. And LSU with a 41-3 victory over Washington.

Top-25 programs that will fall after losses include, Arkansas (8), Wisconsin (13), Oklahoma State (18) and Nebraska (16).
