Another BCS Shake Up as Top Teams Lose

Another weekend of top teams falling have given the BCS standings yet another shake up in the 2012 football season. Most notable of the top teams who fell, would be the Florida Gators.

In Jacksonville, Florida at the 'World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party', the Georgia Bulldogs were able to convert six, that's right, six Florida turnovers into a victory and knock of then, No. 2 Florida.

Not only did Georgia knock of the No. 2 team in the country. It all but sealed their selves a spot in Atlanta at the SEC Championship game, come early December.

Another top team hoping to have a big weekend and season, saw it's hopes go by the way side. USC dropped a tough faught battle to Arizona, 39-36. The Trojans posted 618 yards of total offense. Though left Arizona with their second loss on the season. Ultimately, eliminating them from the National Championship picture.

One team who took their opportunity and ran with it last weekend, was Kansas State. Now, the No. 2 team in the most recent BCS standings. Kansas State went up against the No. 14 ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders, dropping 55 points on them and moving them up into not only the National Championship spotlight.

Their quarterback Collin Klein moved himself right to the top of the Heisman watch list after posting another four TD game, combining two through the air, with two more on the ground. Bringing his season total as of right now, to 28 (12 throwing, 16 rushing).

The biggest game of the weekend, turned out to be just another routing at the hands of the No. 1 team in the BCS standings, Alabama.

The Crimson Tide took it to then No. 11 ranked Mississippi State, easily beating them 38-7. The score was not even that close. Alabama dropped 24 points on Mississippi State before the half. The Bulldogs did not score their lone touchdown until way into the fourth quarter.

Last, and certainly not least was the match up of two top-1o teams in Notre Dame (5) and Oklahoma (8). This game; for many, sealed the deal that the Fighting Irish are indeed back in the college football landscape as national power house. Somewhere they have not been in some time.

Notre Dame took it Oklahoma for the better part of the game. Ending with a 30-13 victory, and a return to prominence in college football.

It appears that 2012 is going to be the year where top teams fall, good teams roll and the cream will truly rise to the top.
